Ranshell DX Tablet 600 mg + 400 iu tablet by Rangs Pharmaceuticals Ltd. is a calcium and vitamin D supplement that contains Calcium (Eggshell Source) + Vitamin D3. In Bangladesh, it is commonly used to help prevent or treat calcium and vitamin D deficiency and to support bone health when dietary intake is not enough.

Calcium (Eggshell Source) + Vitamin D3 provides calcium, an essential mineral for bones, teeth, muscles and nerves, while vitamin D3 helps the body absorb and use calcium. A key caution is that excessive intake can cause high calcium levels, especially in people with kidney disease, kidney stones, or certain endocrine disorders.

• Prevention and treatment of calcium deficiency when dietary intake is inadequate.
• Prevention and treatment of vitamin D deficiency when supplementation is appropriate.
• Adjunctive support in osteoporosis or osteopenia as advised by a healthcare professional.

Adult dose depends on the strength of the tablet, dietary calcium intake, vitamin D status, age, pregnancy or breastfeeding status, kidney function, and the reason for use. It is usually taken with or after food to improve tolerance and absorption. Follow the dose and duration prescribed by the doctor; do not take extra calcium or vitamin D from multiple products unless advised.

• Common: constipation, stomach discomfort, bloating, gas, nausea, or a chalky taste.
• Less common: headache or increased thirst.

People with egg allergy should check the product ingredients and seek advice because the calcium source is eggshell. • Calcium can reduce absorption of tetracycline and quinolone antibiotics; separate dosing as advised by a healthcare professional.
• Calcium can reduce absorption of levothyroxine, bisphosphonates, iron, zinc, and some other minerals or medicines; separate administration may be needed.
• Thiazide diuretics may increase the risk of high calcium levels.
• Digoxin and other cardiac glycosides may have increased risk of heart rhythm problems if calcium levels become high.
• Other vitamin D products, calcitriol, or high-dose calcium supplements increase the risk of overdose.
• High-oxalate or high-phytate foods such as spinach, bran, and some cereals may reduce calcium absorption if taken at the same time.

• Known hypersensitivity to calcium, vitamin D3, eggshell-derived ingredients, or any excipient in the tablet.
• High blood calcium levels or high urine calcium levels.
• Vitamin D toxicity.
• Kidney stones or severe kidney impairment unless specifically advised and monitored by a doctor.
• Conditions causing excessive calcium in the body, such as untreated hyperparathyroidism, unless directed by a specialist.
