Diacerein + Glucosamine Sulphate is a symptomatic slow-acting anti-osteoarthritis medicine medicine available in Bangladesh under many brand names. Below are its uses, dosage, side effects and precautions — and all brands with their current prices.

• Symptomatic treatment of osteoarthritis, such as knee or hip osteoarthritis, to help reduce pain and improve joint function as part of an overall management plan.

Adults should take Diacerein + Glucosamine Sulphate exactly as prescribed, usually with food to improve stomach tolerance. The dose and duration depend on the product strength, severity of symptoms, age, kidney and liver status, and other medicines being used. Do not increase the dose or continue long-term without medical review.

• Common: diarrhoea, loose stools, abdominal pain or cramps, nausea, indigestion, gas, and orange-brown discoloration of urine.
• Glucosamine may cause mild stomach upset, constipation or diarrhoea, headache, drowsiness, or skin rash in some people.
• Serious: severe or persistent diarrhoea, dehydration, allergic reaction with swelling or breathing difficulty, worsening asthma, and signs of liver problems such as yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine, severe tiredness, right upper abdominal pain, or unexplained nausea.

Use with caution in people with a history of diarrhoea, dehydration risk, kidney problems, diabetes, asthma, shellfish allergy, bleeding disorders, or those taking anticoagulants such as warfarin. Diacerein is not recommended in patients with current or past liver disease and should be used cautiously in older adults. Stop and seek medical advice if severe diarrhoea or symptoms of liver injury occur. Use under a registered doctor's or pharmacist's guidance.

• Warfarin and other anticoagulants or antiplatelet medicines: glucosamine may increase the risk of bleeding; INR or bleeding symptoms may need monitoring.
• Laxatives or medicines that commonly cause diarrhoea: may increase the risk of diarrhoea and dehydration with diacerein.
• Antacids containing aluminium, magnesium, or calcium may reduce diacerein absorption; the prescriber or pharmacist may advise separating administration times.
• Alcohol or medicines that can affect the liver may increase concern for liver injury with diacerein.
• Medicines for diabetes: blood glucose monitoring may be advised, as glucosamine can affect glucose control in some patients.

• Known allergy to diacerein, glucosamine, shellfish-derived glucosamine products, or any ingredient of the tablet.
• Current or previous liver disease.
• Severe diarrhoea, inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal obstruction, or unexplained severe abdominal symptoms unless assessed by a doctor.
