Calcium (Coral Calcium) + Vitamin D3 is a calcium and vitamin d supplement medicine available in Bangladesh under many brand names. Below are its uses, dosage, side effects and precautions — and all brands with their current prices.

• Prevention and treatment of calcium deficiency.
• Prevention and treatment of vitamin D deficiency when supplementation is needed.
• Adjunctive support in osteoporosis or low bone mineral density, along with other measures or medicines as advised by a doctor.
• Supplementation in people with increased calcium and vitamin D needs or inadequate intake, when recommended by a healthcare professional.

Adults should take calcium with vitamin D3 exactly as directed on the product label or by the prescribing doctor. It is commonly taken with or after food to improve tolerance and absorption. The appropriate dose depends on age, diet, blood calcium or vitamin D status, kidney function, pregnancy or breastfeeding status, and other medicines; do not exceed the recommended daily amount unless a doctor advises it.

• Common: constipation, stomach discomfort, bloating, gas, nausea, or a chalky taste.
• Less common: diarrhoea or vomiting.
• Serious but uncommon: high calcium levels, which may cause unusual thirst, frequent urination, loss of appetite, confusion, weakness, or irregular heartbeat.
• Kidney stones may occur in susceptible people, especially with excessive calcium intake.

Calcium and vitamin D are important during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but the total daily intake from diet and supplements should stay within recommended limits. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should use this supplement only as advised by a doctor, pharmacist, or antenatal care provider, particularly if they already take prenatal vitamins or have kidney disease, stones, or high calcium levels.
