Gavirad Reflux Chewable Tablet 100 mg + 500 mg tablet by Radiant Pharmaceuticals Ltd. is a medicine containing Potassium Bicarbonate + Sodium Alginate. In Bangladesh, it is mainly used for short-term relief of heartburn, acid regurgitation and indigestion symptoms related to gastro-oesophageal reflux.

Potassium Bicarbonate + Sodium Alginate works by forming a floating protective “raft” on top of the stomach contents, helping to reduce reflux into the food pipe; potassium bicarbonate also helps neutralise stomach acid. A key caution is that it contains sodium and potassium, so people with kidney, heart, blood pressure or electrolyte problems should seek medical advice before use.
