Beconex 20 mg + 2 mg + 2 mg + 5 mg/5 ml syrup by Renata PLC is a vitamin B-complex preparation containing Nicotinamide + Pyridoxine Hydrochloride + Riboflavin + Vitamin B1. In Bangladesh, it is mainly used to prevent or treat deficiency of these B vitamins and to support increased nutritional needs when advised by a healthcare professional.

Nicotinamide + Pyridoxine Hydrochloride + Riboflavin + Vitamin B1 helps the body use carbohydrates, fats and proteins for energy and supports normal nerve, skin and mucosal health. A key caution is that unnecessary or high-dose use, especially of pyridoxine or nicotinamide, may cause harm and should not replace medical evaluation of persistent symptoms.

• Prevention and treatment of deficiency of thiamine, riboflavin, niacin/nicotinamide or pyridoxine.
• Supplementation when dietary intake is inadequate or requirements are increased, as assessed by a healthcare professional.
• Supportive use in conditions associated with B-vitamin deficiency symptoms such as glossitis, angular stomatitis, dermatitis or nutritional neuropathy, when deficiency is suspected or confirmed.

Adult dose depends on the strength of the capsule, tablet or syrup and the reason for use. It is commonly taken with or after food to reduce stomach upset. Follow the dose and duration written on the product label or prescribed by the doctor; do not take multiple vitamin products together or use high doses for a long time unless specifically advised.

• Pyridoxine can reduce the effect of levodopa when levodopa is used without carbidopa or benserazide.
• Isoniazid, cycloserine, hydralazine, penicillamine and some other medicines may increase the need for pyridoxine; dosing should be guided by a clinician.
• Alcohol misuse can worsen thiamine and other B-vitamin deficiency and may reduce the benefit of supplementation.
• Loop diuretics such as furosemide may increase thiamine loss in urine with long-term use.

• Known hypersensitivity or previous serious allergic reaction to nicotinamide, pyridoxine, riboflavin, thiamine or any excipient in the product.
• Do not use high-dose preparations without medical supervision in people who have had toxicity or intolerance to any of these vitamins.

These B vitamins are essential nutrients and are generally considered safe in pregnancy and breastfeeding when used at recommended nutritional doses. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid high-dose or multiple vitamin preparations unless prescribed, because individual needs and total intake from diet and other supplements must be considered.
