Triamace 1 gm + 100 mg/100 gm cream by Edruc Ltd. is a topical medicine containing Econazole Nitrate + Triamcinolone Acetonide. In Bangladesh, it is mainly used for fungal skin infections when there is significant redness, itching, and inflammation, as advised by a healthcare professional.

Econazole Nitrate + Triamcinolone Acetonide combines econazole, which kills or stops the growth of susceptible fungi, with triamcinolone, a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and itching. A key caution is that steroid-containing skin medicines should be used for the shortest suitable time and only on the affected area, because misuse can worsen infections or damage the skin.

• Inflamed fungal skin infections caused by susceptible dermatophytes, such as tinea corporis, tinea cruris, or tinea pedis, when a topical corticosteroid is considered necessary.
• Inflamed Candida skin infections when the organism is susceptible and the prescriber considers the combination appropriate.
• Short-term relief of redness, itching, and swelling associated with susceptible fungal skin infections.

For adults, apply a thin layer to the affected skin as directed by the doctor, usually once or twice daily for a short course. Wash and dry the area before application, avoid covering with tight dressings unless instructed, and do not use on large areas or for longer than prescribed. The exact frequency and duration depend on the site and severity of infection, so follow the prescribing doctor’s instructions.

• Common: mild burning, stinging, itching, dryness, redness, or irritation at the application site.
• Skin changes with steroid use: thinning of skin, stretch marks, visible small blood vessels, acne-like eruptions, folliculitis, increased hair growth, or changes in skin colour.
• Infection-related: worsening or spreading of infection, especially if used incorrectly or for too long.
• Serious but uncommon: allergic contact dermatitis, severe rash, swelling, or signs of systemic steroid effects when used on large areas, under occlusion, on broken skin, or for prolonged periods.

Use with caution on the face, groin, armpits, broken skin, large body areas, or in children, because corticosteroid absorption and skin side effects may be greater. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes. Do not use for acne, rosacea, viral rashes, or undiagnosed skin problems unless specifically prescribed. If irritation occurs, the condition worsens, or there is no improvement, seek medical advice. Use under a registered doctor's or pharmacist's guidance.

• Other topical corticosteroids or irritating skin products may increase local side effects.
• Occlusive dressings, tight bandages, or diapers can increase absorption of triamcinolone and raise the risk of steroid adverse effects.
• Patients taking oral anticoagulants such as warfarin should inform their doctor, as azole antifungals have rarely been associated with increased anticoagulant effect.
• No important food interaction is expected with normal topical use.

• Known hypersensitivity to econazole, triamcinolone, other imidazole antifungals, corticosteroids, or any component of the preparation.
• Untreated viral skin infections such as herpes simplex, chickenpox, or shingles at the application site.
• Tuberculous or syphilitic skin lesions, unless specifically managed by a specialist.
• Use in the eyes or inside the mouth, vagina, or other mucous membranes.
• Use on acne, rosacea, perioral dermatitis, or undiagnosed rashes unless a doctor specifically advises it.

During pregnancy, use only if clearly needed and prescribed, on the smallest area for the shortest possible time. During breastfeeding, avoid applying to the breast or nipple area; if application near the breast is necessary, clean the area thoroughly before nursing. Consult a doctor before use in pregnancy or lactation.

Store at room temperature, away from excessive heat, direct sunlight, and moisture. Keep the tube tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not freeze, and do not use after the expiry date.
