TMC Liquid (Vet) 250 mg/ml oral solution by Vision Drugs Limited (Veterinary) is a veterinary medicine containing Tilmicosin. In Bangladesh, it is mainly used for susceptible bacterial respiratory infections in livestock or poultry when prescribed by a qualified animal-health professional; it is not a medicine for human use.

Tilmicosin is a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis, helping to stop the growth of susceptible bacteria. A key caution is that accidental human injection or exposure can be dangerous and may cause serious heart-related toxicity; seek urgent medical help if exposure occurs.

• Veterinary treatment or control of respiratory disease caused by susceptible bacteria in approved animal species, such as cattle, sheep, pigs, or poultry, depending on the product label and local approval.
• May be used for infections involving susceptible organisms such as Pasteurella, Mannheimia, Histophilus, Actinobacillus, or Mycoplasma species where tilmicosin is indicated.
• Use should be based on veterinary diagnosis, local regulations, and antimicrobial-resistance considerations.

There is no standard adult human dose because Tilmicosin is not intended for human treatment. For animals, the dose, route, duration, withdrawal period, and whether injection or oral solution is appropriate depend on the species, body weight, infection, and specific product label. Follow the prescribing veterinarian’s instructions exactly and do not change the dose or use it in another species without professional advice.

• In treated animals: reduced appetite, diarrhoea, lethargy, local swelling or pain at an injection site, or transient changes in behaviour may occur.
• Serious animal reactions can include severe allergic reaction, breathing difficulty, collapse, or heart-related toxicity, especially with incorrect route or overdose.
• In humans: accidental injection or significant exposure is a medical emergency and may cause severe cardiovascular effects, which can be fatal.

Tilmicosin should be handled carefully, especially injectable forms, to avoid accidental self-injection or contact with skin, eyes, or mouth. People with known macrolide allergy should avoid handling it when possible. Use only in the animal species and by the route stated on the label; do not use in horses or other non-approved species. Observe meat, milk, and egg withdrawal periods to protect consumers. Use under a registered doctor's or pharmacist's guidance, and for animal treatment follow the direction of a registered veterinarian.

• Do not combine with other antimicrobials or medicated water/feed unless directed by a veterinarian, as compatibility and efficacy can vary.
• Other macrolides, lincosamides, or chloramphenicol-like antibiotics may have overlapping mechanisms and should not be used together without professional advice.
• Medicines or conditions that increase risk of abnormal heart rhythm may increase safety concerns, particularly after accidental human exposure or overdose.
• Mixing oral solution with unsuitable water additives or disinfectants may reduce stability or intake; follow the product label.

• Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to tilmicosin or other macrolide antibiotics.
• Do not administer injectable tilmicosin intravenously or by any unapproved route.
• Do not use in non-approved species, such as horses, and do not use in animals producing food products unless the labelled withdrawal requirements can be followed.

For breeding, pregnant, or lactating animals, use Tilmicosin only when a veterinarian decides that the expected benefit outweighs the risk. It should not be used by pregnant or breastfeeding people as a human medicine, and accidental exposure should be discussed urgently with a healthcare professional.

Store in the original container at the temperature recommended on the label, protected from excessive heat, light, and contamination. Keep tightly closed and out of reach of children and animals. Do not use after the expiry date, and dispose of unused or expired veterinary antibiotics according to local regulations or professional advice.
