Rostil 135 mg tablet by Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd. is a medicine containing Mebeverine Hydrochloride. In Bangladesh, it is mainly used to relieve abdominal cramps, pain, bloating and bowel discomfort associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and intestinal spasm.

Mebeverine Hydrochloride works by relaxing the smooth muscles of the gut, helping to reduce painful spasms without significantly affecting normal bowel movement. A key caution is that new, worsening, or unexplained abdominal symptoms should be assessed by a doctor before use.

• Symptomatic relief of abdominal pain and cramps associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
• Relief of intestinal spasm and related symptoms such as bloating or bowel discomfort when a doctor considers it appropriate.

Adults should take Mebeverine Hydrochloride exactly as prescribed. Immediate-release tablets or capsules are commonly taken before meals, while sustained-release capsules are usually taken less often according to the product and prescription. Do not crush or chew sustained-release capsules. The exact dose, timing, and duration should be decided by the prescribing doctor based on symptoms and the dosage form used.

• Usually well tolerated; some people may experience nausea, indigestion, headache, dizziness, or mild stomach discomfort.
• Allergic skin reactions such as rash, itching, or hives may occur.
• Serious but rare reactions include swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, breathing difficulty, or severe allergy; seek urgent medical help if these occur.
