Neocliz 25 mg + 50 mg tablet by Silco Pharmaceuticlas Ltd. is a medicine containing Meclizine Hydrochloride + Pyridoxine Hydrochloride. In Bangladesh, it is commonly used to help prevent or relieve nausea, vomiting and dizziness/vertigo, including motion sickness; it may also be prescribed for pregnancy-related nausea when a clinician considers it appropriate.

Meclizine Hydrochloride + Pyridoxine Hydrochloride works through meclizine, an antihistamine that reduces signals involved in nausea, vomiting and balance disturbance, while pyridoxine is vitamin B6, which can help some nausea states. A key caution is that meclizine may cause drowsiness, so avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you.

• Prevention and treatment of nausea, vomiting and dizziness associated with motion sickness.
• Symptomatic relief of vertigo or dizziness related to vestibular disorders, when prescribed.
• Nausea and vomiting of pregnancy, only when recommended by a registered doctor after assessing suitability.

Use exactly as directed by the prescribing doctor or as stated on the medicine label. Adult dosing depends on the indication, symptom severity, other medicines being taken and individual risk factors such as pregnancy, glaucoma, prostate problems or liver/kidney disease. Do not take extra tablets or use for prolonged periods without medical advice.

• Common: drowsiness, tiredness, dry mouth, headache, blurred vision, constipation and stomach discomfort.
• Less common: dizziness, confusion, nervousness or difficulty passing urine, especially in older adults or people with prostate problems.
• Serious: allergic reaction such as rash, swelling of the face/lips/throat or breathing difficulty; severe confusion; fast or irregular heartbeat; eye pain or sudden vision changes. Seek urgent medical help if these occur.

Use with caution in older adults and in people with narrow-angle glaucoma, enlarged prostate or urinary retention, asthma or chronic lung disease, liver disease, kidney disease, epilepsy, or a history of strong sedation with antihistamines. Avoid alcohol and be careful with driving or machinery because drowsiness may occur. Persistent vomiting, dehydration, abdominal pain, fever, weight loss, blood in vomit, or severe dizziness needs prompt medical assessment. Use this medicine under the guidance of a registered doctor or pharmacist.

• Alcohol, sleeping tablets, benzodiazepines, opioids, sedating antidepressants, antipsychotics and other medicines that cause drowsiness can increase sedation and breathing-risk concerns.
• Other antihistamines or anticholinergic medicines may increase dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, confusion and urinary retention.
• Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) may intensify anticholinergic effects of antihistamines.
• Pyridoxine can reduce the effect of levodopa if levodopa is taken without carbidopa; discuss with a doctor if using Parkinson’s medicines.
• High-dose pyridoxine may affect some anticonvulsant medicines; patients with epilepsy should seek medical advice before use.

• Do not use in anyone with known hypersensitivity or allergy to meclizine, pyridoxine, related antihistamines, or any tablet ingredient.
• Do not use for unexplained, severe or persistent vomiting without medical evaluation.
• Do not give to children unless specifically prescribed by a doctor.

Pyridoxine is commonly used for nausea in pregnancy, and meclizine has been used in pregnancy, but this combination should be taken during pregnancy only on a registered doctor’s advice and at the recommended dose. During breastfeeding, antihistamines may cause infant drowsiness or reduce milk supply in some cases; consult a doctor before use, especially for newborn or premature infants.
