Ascorbic Acid + Copper + Lutein + Vitamin E + Zinc is a ocular antioxidant vitamin and mineral supplement medicine available in Bangladesh under many brand names. Below are its uses, dosage, side effects and precautions — and all brands with their current prices.

• Adjunct nutritional support for age-related macular degeneration, particularly where an ophthalmologist recommends an AREDS-type antioxidant and mineral supplement.
• Supplementation when dietary intake of vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, copper or lutein is considered inadequate.
• Support of general eye-health nutrition as advised by a healthcare professional.

Adults should take this type of supplement exactly as directed on the product label or as prescribed by a doctor. The dose varies by formulation and strength, so do not take extra capsules or combine it with other high-dose vitamin or mineral products unless advised by a healthcare professional. It is commonly taken with food to improve tolerability and absorption of fat-soluble ingredients such as lutein and vitamin E.

• Common: nausea, stomach upset, abdominal discomfort, constipation or diarrhoea, metallic taste, and headache.
• Zinc may cause nausea or vomiting if taken on an empty stomach.
