What is MRI of Brain & PNS?

MRI of the brain and peripheral nervous system (PNS) is an imaging procedure that provides detailed views of both the brain and the nerves outside the brain and spinal cord. The brain MRI helps diagnose neurological conditions such as tumors, strokes, or neurodegenerative diseases, while the PNS MRI focuses on peripheral nerves, which can be affected by conditions like neuropathy, nerve compression, or injuries.

During the procedure, you will lie still in an MRI scanner, and a contrast dye may be injected to enhance the clarity of the images, especially for soft tissues. No special preparation is usually needed, though fasting may be required if contrast is used.
