What is MRI & MRA of Neck?

MRI & MRA of the neck is an imaging procedure used to assess the structure of the neck and the blood vessels within it. MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) provides detailed images of soft tissues, such as muscles, nerves, and the spine, helping diagnose conditions like tumors, infections, or spinal issues.

MRA (Magnetic Resonance Angiography) focuses specifically on the arteries and veins in the neck, including the carotid and vertebral arteries, to detect blockages, aneurysms, stenosis, or other vascular abnormalities. During the procedure, you will lie still in an MRI scanner, and a contrast dye may be injected to enhance the clarity of the images.
