What is GFR?

Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) measures how well your kidneys filter blood, specifically removing waste and excess fluids. It's a critical test for assessing kidney function and diagnosing chronic kidney disease (CKD).

GFR is calculated using blood creatinine levels, age, sex, and race. The normal GFR range is typically 90-120 mL/min/1.73m², but it decreases with age.

Most routine tests take only a few minutes to sample, with reports typically ready the same day or within 24–48 hours.
