What is FibroScan?

FibroScan is a non-invasive medical test used to assess liver stiffness, which helps evaluate liver health and detect conditions like fibrosis or cirrhosis. It uses a technology called elastography, which measures how quickly a pulse wave travels through the liver.

The faster the wave, the stiffer the liver tissue, indicating possible liver damage. FibroScan is commonly used in patients with chronic liver diseases, such as hepatitis or fatty liver disease.
