What is DLC?

DLC (Differential Leukocyte Count) is a blood test that measures the percentage of different types of white blood cells (WBCs), including neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, and basophils. It helps diagnose infections, inflammation, allergies, immune disorders, and certain blood conditions.

What to expect & how to prepare

DLC is performed at a diagnostic centre or hospital lab. A trained technician collects the required sample (commonly a blood draw, urine sample, swab or an imaging scan, depending on the test) and sends it to the lab for analysis. Most routine tests take only a few minutes to sample, with reports typically ready the same day or within 24–48 hours.
