What is Digital X-Ray of Nephrostogram?

A Digital X-ray of a nephrostogram is a diagnostic imaging procedure used to examine the kidneys and urinary tract. It involves the injection of a contrast dye directly into the kidney through a nephrostomy tube, which is typically inserted through the skin.

This allows detailed X-ray images of the kidneys, ureters, and bladder to be captured, helping to detect issues such as blockages, infections, kidney stones, or abnormalities in the urinary system. The procedure is minimally invasive and usually requires local anesthesia.

After the X-ray images are taken, the contrast dye is cleared from the body. Results are reviewed by a radiologist to evaluate kidney function and structure.
