A Digital X-Ray of I.V.U. with M.C.U. (Micturating Cystourethrogram) is a combined imaging procedure used to evaluate both the kidneys and the urinary bladder, along with the ureters and urethra.

During this test, a contrast dye is injected into a vein for the I.V.U. to visualize the kidneys and ureters, while the M.C.U. involves filling the bladder with contrast dye through a catheter.

X-ray images are taken while the patient is urinating (micturating), allowing the doctor to observe bladder function and any potential reflux, obstructions, or structural abnormalities in the urinary tract. This procedure provides a comprehensive assessment with minimal radiation exposure.

What to expect & how to prepare
