What is CD15?

CD15 is a cell surface glycoprotein expressed on various types of cells, including neutrophils, monocytes, some subsets of T cells, and Hodgkin's lymphoma cells. It plays a role in cell adhesion and interaction with other cells in the immune response.

In clinical practice, CD15 is often used as a marker in immunophenotyping, particularly for identifying and diagnosing Hodgkin's lymphoma, acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and granulocytic leukemia. The expression of CD15 on tumor cells, in combination with other markers, can aid in diagnosing these conditions and determining the appropriate treatment approach.
