What is CA 19-9?

CA 19-9 (Cancer Antigen 19-9) is a tumor marker commonly used to monitor certain cancers, particularly pancreatic cancer, as well as other gastrointestinal cancers such as colorectal, stomach, and bile duct cancers. It is also used to assess treatment effectiveness and detect recurrence.
