What is CA 125?

CA 125 (Cancer Antigen 125) is a protein found in the blood that can be elevated in certain conditions, particularly ovarian cancer. It is often used as a tumor marker to help diagnose, monitor treatment, or assess recurrence of ovarian cancer.

However, high levels of CA 125 can also be found in non-cancerous conditions such as endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and menstruation.
