What is Anti-Sm?

The Anti-Sm (Anti-Smith) test detects antibodies against Smith antigens, which are proteins found in the cell nucleus. These antibodies are highly specific to systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), an autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks healthy tissues.
