What is Anti-ds DNA?

The Anti-dsDNA (Anti-double-stranded DNA) test detects antibodies against the double-stranded DNA found in the nucleus of cells. These antibodies are highly specific for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), an autoimmune disorder where the immune system attacks healthy tissue.
